BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The FMDQ Depository Board of Directors are responsible for setting the operational and governance architecture for the Depository.

  • Ms. Daisy Ekineh

    Chairman

    Ms. Ekineh is the Technical Advisor to the Capital Market Master Plan Implementation Council. She was a one-time Chair of the African & Middle East Regional Committee of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions.

    She previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Global Mandate Consulting Limited, former Acting Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria, as well as Executive Commissioner (Operations), and Director, Securities, and Investment Services at the Commission.

    She currently serves on the Board of Directors of FMDQ Group.

  • Mr. Sam Okojere

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Okojere is the Director, Banking Services Department (BSD), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Prior to this appointment, he served as the Director of Payments System Management Department (PSMD) at the CBN and as the pioneer Project Manager for the Nigerian Payments System Vision 2020 since 2009.

    He played key roles in the establishment of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank as well as the African Export Bank. He is also the Chairman of Nigeria Electronic Fraud Forum (NeFF) – an industry anti-fraud body.

    He represents the CBN on the Board of FMDQ Depository.

  • Mr. Bola Onadele. Koko

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Onadele is the Chief Executive Officer of FMDQ Group. He serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited, and FMDQ Clear Limited, as well as, Chairman of FMDQ Private Markets Limited and iQx Consult Limited.

    Prior to this engagement, he was the President of FDHL, a financial markets and risk management consulting firm he founded in 2001, where he provided business leadership in the empowerment of the Nigerian financial markets.

    His career spans across Citibank Nigeria (Chief Dealer), FCMB Limited (Treasurer), Trust Bank of Africa (Merchant Bankers) (Managing Director/CEO) and Leadbank PLC (Chief Operations Officer). He is a member of the Board of Trustees of FMDA.

  • Ms. Kaodi Ugoji

    Non-Executive Director

    Ms. Ugoji is the Group Chief Operating Officer of FMDQ Group PLC. She serves as an Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC and as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited, FMDQ Clear Limited, FMDQ Private Markets Limited, and iQx Consult Limited.

    Ms. Ugoji has extensive experience in Treasury, Asset Management, Business Development, Marketing Communications, Finance, Project Management and Strategy functions of various organisations including Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, Hermes Investment Managers Limited, United Kingdom, Diamond Bank PLC, and Guinness Nigeria PLC.

  • Ms. Tumi Sekoni

    Non-Executive Director

    Ms. Sekoni is the Managing Director of FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited. She serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FMDQ Clear Limited, FMDQ Private Markets Limited and iQx Consult Limited.

    She has built her career across Trading, Operations, Business Analysis, Business Development, Products & Markets Development, Marketing and Project Management in various organisations including Guaranty Trust Bank PLC, Goldman Sachs International, UBS London and Merrill Lynch.

  • Mr. Ayodele Onawunmi

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Onawunmi is the Managing Director of FMDQ Clear Limited. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited, FMDQ Private Markets Limited, and iQx Consult Limited. Prior to joining FMDQ Clear Limited, he was the Managing Partner of 213 Capital, an African focused investment and risk advisory firm.

    Mr. Onawunmi holds a Master's degree in Finance from London Business School, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor's degree in Basic Medical Sciences from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has over twenty-three (23) years of experience in Trading, Corporate & Investment Banking, Pension Fund Management and Financial Market Consulting in various organisations, including Access Bank PLC and Chapel Hill Denham Group.

  • Dr. Joseph Mekiliuwa

    Non-Executive Director

    Dr. Mekiliuwa is the Principal Consultant of Joe Mekiliuwa Consulting Services Limited, a Council Member of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars, a member of the Board of Trustees, FMDQ Exchange Investor Protection Fund and a Board Member of Emerging Africa Capital Group. He also serves as a Technical Adviser to FMDQ Group.

    Prior to this appointment, he worked with Central Securities Clearing System PLC; Globe Computers Limited and Fine Homes Mortgage Bank. He previously served as the Chairman, Technical Committee for the African Exchanges Linkage Project, as well as the Technical Chairman for the West African Capital Market Integration Committee.

  • Mrs. Ije N. Onejeme

    Independent Non-Executive Director

    Mrs. Ije N. Onejeme is the CEO and Founder of Veranda Energy Nigeria Limited. Prior to this role, she was the General Manager, Contract Management at Nigeria Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), and before that, Deputy Head of the Legal Department at NDPHC. In addition, she served as Corporate Secretary and Legal Counsel at ERHC Energy, Houston, Texas, USA; Principal Partner, Law Offices of Ije. N. Onejeme, Los Angeles, California, USA; and Douglas L. Wicks & Associates, Beverly Hills, California, USA.

    She is also a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and Association of Corporate Counsel. She serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Depository Limited.
