BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors of FMDQ Group, comprising credible financial markets experienced professionals, is responsible for formulating vital strategies to ensure the longevity of the Group and its markets.

  • Mr. Roosevelt Ogbonna

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Ogbonna is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank PLC and has served the bank in various capacities, including Executive Director of the Commercial Banking Division and Group Deputy Managing Director.

    He is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Access Holdings PLC, a Chartered Financial Analyst, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. Mr. Ogbonna represents Systemically Important Banks on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.

  • Mrs. Miriam Olusanya

    Non-Executive Director

    Mrs. Olusanya is the Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company PLC. Prior to her appointment as Managing Director, she served as Executive Director and previously held the positions of Group Treasurer and Head, Wholesale Banking Division, with responsibilities spanning Asset and Liability Management, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, and Investor Relations.

    She currently serves as Chairman of the Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities and the Financial Markets Sub-Committee of the Bankers’ Committee, as well as Vice Chairman of the Body of Bank CEOs of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

    Mrs. Olusanya serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.
  • Mr. Joseph Olaoye Jaiyeola

    Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Jaiyeola is the Founder and Pro-Chancellor of Hillside University of Science and Technology, Okemesi-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, and Chairman of Kainos Edge Consulting Limited. He also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC).

    He previously served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kakawa Discount House Limited (now FBNQuest Merchant Bank Limited) and as Chief Executive Officer of the NESG. He has also served on the Boards of the United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria, FMDQ OTC PLC (now FMDQ Group PLC), and Nigeria Improving Business Environment for Prosperity, among others.

    He is a former President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Money Market Association of Nigeria (now Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA)) and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of FMDA. He is a Fellow of the CIBN, the Institute of Directors Nigeria, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

    Mr. Jaiyeola serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.

  • Mrs. Egbichi Akinsanya

    Independent Non-Executive Director

    Mrs. Akinsanya is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Learn Africa PLC.

    She was formerly the Managing Director of FBC Beverages Company Limited. Prior to that, she served as the Group Treasurer for British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited, which she joined after leaving Citibank Nigeria Limited as an Assistant General Manager. She also worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria.

    She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Mrs. Akinsanya serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.

  • Mr. Funso Sobande

    Independent Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Sobande is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Interchange Group. He previously served as Group Treasurer of Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC and as Executive Director, Operations and Information Technology, at First Pension Custodian Nigeria Limited.

    Earlier in his career, he held several leadership positions at the Central Bank of Nigeria, including Chief Dealer. He also served as Technical Adviser to the Debt Management Office, Nigeria, and has been a member of several national committees, including the Securities and Exchange Commission Technical Committee, the Technical Working Group for Nigeria Agenda 2050, and the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021-2025).

    He currently serves on the Boards of the National Sickle Cell Foundation and Fast Credit Finance Company. He previously served as President of the Money Market Association of Nigeria (now Financial Markets Dealers Association) and as an Independent Member of the Governing Council of the Association of Corporate Treasurers of Nigeria.

    Mr. Sobande serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.

  • Mrs. Kemi Adewole, HCIB, FCIoD, QRD

    Independent Non-Executive Director

    Mrs. Adewole currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of AIICO Insurance PLC and TotalEnergies EP Nigeria CPFA Limited, where she chairs several Board Committees responsible for governance, enterprise risk management, nominations, and Board effectiveness. She also serves as a Council Member of the DCRO Institute, USA, and a member of its Reputational Risk Governance Council.

    Prior to her Board career, Mrs. Adewole held several senior leadership positions with Citibank Nigeria Limited and First Bank of Nigeria Limited including serving as Country Head, Investor and Issuer Services, Citibank Nigeria Limitedand a member of the Executive Management Team. She is the Co-Founder and Past President of the Association of Asset Custodians of Nigeria. Mrs. Adewole holds the Qualified Risk Director® (QRD) designation and Certificate in Risk Governance® from the DCRO Institute and she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors, Nigeria, and a Member of the Institute of Directors, United Kingdom.

    Mrs. Adewole serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.

  • Mr. Innocent Isichei

    Independent Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Isichei is the Chief Executive Officer of ACIOE Associates Limited, a policy and strategy advisory firm providing advisory services across key markets in Africa.

    He previously served as Director of Policy at Paystack Payments Limited, where he led the company's policy engagements and supported its expansion across multiple African markets. Earlier in his career, he held positions as Assistant Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria and Head of Government Affairs for Africa at International Business Machines Corporation.

    Mr. Isichei serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of FMDQ Group PLC.
